The origin and spread of this plant is much debated. We have news of his presence already in ancient times in South East Asia, but it was the Arabs to introduce oranges in Asia Minor, Egypt, North Africa and Europe. It belongs to the family of Rutaceae and like all citrus, at the beginning played an important decorative role (Sicilian garden). Rich in vitamin C, a single orange is capable of providing the entire daily requirement. Also interesting is the aesthetic use in cosmetics and perfumery. One fruit contains 40 calories per 100 grams, it is a good antioxidant, strengthen the immune system and fights free radicals.
