Aromatic plant native to Siberia and cultivated in China for over 2000 years. The onion was very appreciated by the Greeks, Romans and Egyptians, and in the Middle Ages it was also used as a currency trading (bargaining chip). Spring onion is an immature forms of ordinary onion, belonging to the Lili family (Liliaceae). It appears white at the bottom with long green leaves, narrow and hollow.
