The “Royal Gala” variety is a cross between the Golden Delicious and the Kidd’s Orange Red, realized in New Zealand in 1920. For many years they continued to select intersections to find the right colour. This fruit is the result of the late 70’s, it is a precocious variety with a round shape, the skin is red with yellow / green hues, the flesh is crisp and juicy. It is good to taste both raw and cooked. It contains 85 calories per 100 grams, it has antioxidant properties and protect the cells in cardiovascular disease.
